in front of this white 944 is another 944, tan; looks to be the same year.  these have been here, just like this, since i’ve been observing them, almost a year.

this last one i took from a wall that i climbed up on.  most of the vaults are of the falling-apart brick variety and have ferns and various plants growing out of the cracks and holes, which i found a little creepy.

you can’t tell how big this vault is but it’s huge.  it’s maybe very, very large-carousel sized.  and those poor Italian immigrants somehow scraped together $40,000 in 1857-dollars to have it fabricated in Italy and then shipped and erected here.  god love them.

this was at Wednesdays in the Square. and the song being performed while i took this? Paul Sanchez’s ‘Home‘.

it’s for sale now.

this made me kind of sad. if they were willing to stuff their faces under the gate like that just to look at me/keep me from walking off then they must not be getting enough attention.
